The lessons throught the book are structured around activities of every day life including lessons on political, social and economic pursuits of the people. Three lessons on space exploration introduce one to technical vocabulary. It tells stories of important black leaders from King Shaka Zulu to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The conversational system used in the book is effective for teaching Swahili to foreigners.
